An Emergency Rest Centre and Emergency Plan for Cromarty

Following a prolonged power cut which caused a lot of difficult for members of the community ,CCP applied and were awarded £9000 by Scottish and Southern Energy Resilient Communities fund. With this funding equipment was purchased which would make the Victoria Hall into and Emergency Rest Centre. The hall can now be heated and lit by a generator and food can be cooked on an LPG cooker.

Highland Council provided funding for a shed to house the equipment;the shed was erected by local volunteers and is adjacent to the Victoria Hall.CCP worked with Duncan Bowers on an emergency plan which has been handed over to the community council to action when needed.
