Crisis Fund Statement
Statement by Trustees August 2025
The Crisis Fund was established to aid the resilience of the community in difficult times. After the 5-day power outage in 2015 and the Covid emergency of 2020, we had seen how the most vulnerable in the community had suffered and resolved to make provision for any future emergency affecting the community as a whole.
The Trustees of Cromarty Care Project undertake to ensure that the Crisis Fund is used only in the event of a community-wide emergency.
If, at some later date, the Cromarty Care Project is wound up, then any funds remaining in the Crisis Fund will be transferred to Cromarty and District Community Council, to be used for the benefit of the community at the discretion of the Community Council.
The Crisis Fund is at an early stage and, in order to build it up, the Trustees will transfer a percentage of annual donations at the end of each financial year. The percentage to be transferred will be no more than 10% and no less than 2%. Donors will also be encouraged to donate to the Crisis Fund directly via the website.
